The Franconian family business ‘Hörrlein Feinkost International GmbH’ was established in 1923 by the family named Hörrlein in Adelsdorf in the region of ‘Höchstadt an der Aisch‘.
The company is a certified producer of high-quality Finefood since 1982, deriving from organic farming. The company became in that way one of the first organic producers.

Besides developing, producing and marketing the own brand ‘Hörrlein Bio-Feinkost’, does ‘Hörrlein Feinkost International GmbH’ also perform these actions for international private labels. In that way, we can offer on request complete product developments in the area of private-labeling. Today the company exports to already 28 countries.
Horseradish, also called the wonder root, was an issue for the native family Hörrlein-members from the end of the 19.century.
The ancestors of the current family in charge were farmers; and as every agriculturist in this day and age, did they have a field with horseradish in addition to their fishpond in order to assure the means of subsistence.
With his 20 years of age, after World War I, did the later founder of this company Johann Hörrlein sell his horseradish successfully in Thüringen and Sachsen, which was very far from home.
At a later date he started to supply hundreds of ‘Krenweiberln’ and ‘Gewürzmännern’ as a wholesaler with horseradish and other healthy herbs and spices.
The first export-contacts to Switzerland, France and even to America were initiated. In the 40’s of the past century one began to grate the horseradish by hand, fill it in plastic or glass repositories and to make it maintainable. Thereby began the triumphal procession of the tasty, Franconian vitamin-bomb through the shelves of the supermarkets all around the globe in up to 28 countries.
